<p>According to reports, Manchester United is considering a deal for England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Everton as a potential David de Gea successor.</p>
<p>The Daily Star said the Red Devils are prepared to make a £45 million offer to secure Pickford’s services.</p>

<p>Manchester United officials have said that the Premier League club and David de Gea are still in talks on a new contract, although the Spanish goalkeeper has reportedly been resistant to lowering his current weekly wage of £375,000 to £200,000.</p>
<p>Pickford extended his contract with the Merseyside club in February, keeping him there until 2027, but Manchester United’s desire was unabated.</p>
<p>Tottenham Hotspur, who are also looking for a goalkeeper to replace outgoing club captain Hugo Lloris, have also shown interest in Pickford.</p>
<p>The possibility that Pickford will increase his £100,000-per-week income at Old Trafford might tip the scales in Manchester United’s favor.</p>
<p>De Gea was the eleventh player in Manchester United’s history to make 500 appearances when he arrived at Old Trafford as a young goalkeeper from Atletico Madrid.</p>
<p>“I believe it to be insane. Naturally, it’s really significant for me to have played 500 games for this club, but I think I’ll understand it more after I finish playing football,” De Gea said following the last game of the year.</p>
<p>When I finally stop playing, I’ll be able to say, “OK, I played more than 500 games for a big club like United. To be honest, I’m very proud and it’s great. It’s a dream to be here because it’s really tough to get here and huge just to be a member of this group.</p>
<p>According to reports in England, Manchester United does have the choice to give De Gea one more year on his contract and then sell him this summer for a profit.</p>
<p>Yassine Bouno, the goalkeeper for Sevilla, is reportedly interested in joining Manchester United in England, according to reports in Spanish media.</p>
