Despite having one of the most evenly matched T20 teams in the competition, Rajasthan Royals blew a great chance to advance in the 16th Indian Premier League.
The Royals got off to a strong start in the competition by winning four of their first five games and seeming to be a force to be reckoned with. Their performance, however, quickly declined as they dropped out of the top half of the standings after losing five of their next six games.
At the conclusion of the group stage, they had a very low possibility, dependent on favorable outcomes, of making the playoffs. RR ultimately came in fifth place and was unable to advance to the playoffs.

Maximum of the Season
The Royals' best moment likely came at the beginning of the season. They seemed to be a lock to make the playoffs after winning four of their first five games. At first, everything went well for them as the batsmen posted large totals while Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal handled the remainder of the work with the ball.
Season's Lowest Point
The defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the second half made things much worse. For RR, it was a miserable and forgettable day.
They were knocked out for only 59, which is the third-lowest total in IPL history, by Faf du Plessis' RCB. The 112-run loss dropped the Royals in the standings and made it considerably more difficult for them to make the playoffs.
Among the best players
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who dominated the IPL 2023 stage, was named Emerging Player of the Year. The youthful southpaw stole the show and outperformed his opening partner Jos Buttler, one of the greatest T20 cricket players ever.
Jaiswal won over everyone and broke many records, including the IPL's quickest half-century ever (13 balls). In 14 matches, he scored 625 runs at an average of 48.08, including a century, to finish the tournament.
Riyan Parag once again proved to be a huge letdown for RR. The team has supported the Assamese cricketer throughout the years, but apart from a few previous hits, Parag hasn't had much of an influence. He participated in seven games this season and only managed to score 78 runs, averaging 13. When used as a finisher, Parag's strike rate of 118.18 was likewise below average.
Many people were pleased by Sanju Samson's leadership throughout the previous season, but he struggled in IPL 2023. After the first five games, everything was going well for him, but he was unable to stem the Royals' decline in the second half. As he struggled to find the proper death bowling combination during the season, several of his bowling modifications came under fire.
